Day 123: Attack of the Tripods

With the January 30th date looming in just a few weeks, I need to make sure that I’m ready for such a shoot. I’ve already calculated that the Indiegogo video should cost me about $130. What I did today was go on Amazon and start actually making a decision on which equipment to buy. Today I concentrated on tripods. I wanted to get an affordable but sturdy tripod. I might not be able to afford a top-of-the-line tripod but then again I don’t actually need one for this shoot. A good old $20 tripod can do the trick.

In the end, I decided to go with the AmazonBasics 60-inch Lightweight Tripod with Bag. I went with this tripod because of the good reviews on Amazon (four-and-a-half stars) and it can hold large-sized camcorders. This is a tripod I can also use in the future. I’m not sure if it’s one I’d use for the main camera in the movie but I decide to use the Indiegogo video camcorder as a second camera in the movie, I could use this tripod. In other words, I think it’s worth a buy.

There are also a few updates I’d like to relay on this post:

[*] I am still in need of a crew for the Indiegogo video pitch on  January 30th. If you are interested, feel free to e-mail me. I need a DP, a boom operator, and perhaps a gaffer. You’ll get pizza, Coffee Bean, and I will give you a credit in the final film product as part of the Indiegogo team!

[*] Thank you to everyone who has auditioned so far! As a note, I don’t plan on really reviewing the submissions until February rolls around. If you are interested in auditioning, please click the arrow to the right of the screen and click the link to go to the Backstage page. I especially need submissions for Laredo, Antonio, and Dallas.
