Day 175: Organization

Organization:

Today I spent mostly doing organization work for Eternal Camping. That mostly meant making sure the recording files were clearly labeled in an easy-to-find place. I also have a small spreadsheet to help keep track of them. I also made sure that all of the release forms are going into one folder, for now, and also keeping track in the casting spreadsheet who has submitted one and who still needs to.

Crew:

I don’t exactly know yet when I’ll be shooting the Indiegogo video (I’m thinking end of March) but if you want to help or you know someone who will be free to help, please get in touch with me! I’ll need someone to handle camera and someone to handle boom. I have a lead on a potential Director of Photography that a friend of mine thinks is brilliant so we’ll see if I can lock him in!

Day 174: Recordings

Recordings:

Today I had two different recording sessions with a couple of the actors. The first was for the role of Houston, which went pretty well. The second was for the role of Austin, which went also pretty good. Now with all of the release forms being signed and the recordings I’m getting via e-mail, I’m going to spend tomorrow helping organize them via a spreadsheet so that when I edit, I know where they are on my computer and who they belong to. It’ll also make it easy to add the future recording sessions.

Day 173: Casting

Cast:

I scheduled a recording session for tomorrow: if all goes to plan, I should have two sessions! One in the morning, one in the afternoon. I am also working hard at scheduling the other recording sessions. I didn’t get a chance to cast the remaining two roles today but that should happen soon!

Day 172: Recording + Casting

Cast:

I continue to work towards scheduling recording sessions with the actors and I also contacted another actor, this time for the role of Austin. This was a tough choice because of the significance of the role-particularly in the teaser because he has two lines. There are only two roles left to cast: Odessa and Computerized Message. I should have those two done by the end of the week.

Recording Session:

I actually had a recording session today! It was done over the phone because the actor is from outside Los Angeles. It was pretty neat not only hearing the actor perform what I wrote (even if it’s just one line) but getting different variations on it for the teaser. It went pretty well!

Day 171: Casting

Cast:

The good news is that I’ve pretty much gotten another recording session scheduled for next week and am on track for setting up another. That would leave three recording sessions for next week. That’s pretty good. The not-so-good news is I have yet to hear back from one of the people I’m seeking to cast. I’m going to wait for the weekend and if I don’t hear back I’ll be forced to move on. I should be contacting more people soon as well to cast them.

Day 170: Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Hopefully you remembered to wear green so you didn’t get pinched!

Cast:

I have one recording session set for next week and hopefully I’ll have a few more set up with the rest of the actors who have already agreed to be in the video. Ideally, I’d like to have all of the recordings done by the end of March so hopefully once the rest of the cast is set in, we can schedule the recording sessions to quickly get through it. Alas, I got too busy with other stuff that I wasn’t to get in touch with a new actor/actress today.

Day 169: Casting Work

Casting:

As I keep working at trying to establish a schedule on when to record lines with actors, I reach out to another actor this time for the role of Dallas. Tomorrow I’m going to try to contact an actress for the role of Odessa, Computerized Message, or Austin while continuing to set up recording sessions!
