Day 184: Indiegogo

Indiegogo Video Pitch:

I kept practicing the lines in front of the mirror. I don’t just want them memorized but I also want to practice what I’m doing with my body as I say these lines: this way, I’m not just speaking to the camera but using my hands to help communicate my ideas. In essence, I’m sort of directing myself so that when I actually shoot the pitch, it’ll go as smoothly as possible.

Indiegogo Video Teaser:

I do have a choice set out for Odessa and I’ll be sending out the e-mail sometime tomorrow. I would send the e-mail today but I wanted to confirm the choice with the people helping me with the project before I did that: I’m waiting to hear back from them to make sure that the choice is solid.

Indiegogo Page:

I kept working on the Indiegogo page, making edits here and there. There isn’t much to write about this part largely because the changes were small in nature. I do plan on some re-writes on parts of the page that I feel could be spruced up but I want to sleep on it before I make them.

Day 183: Indiegogo

Indiegogo Video Pitch:

I went over the lines for the Indiegogo script to see if I wanted to make any more changes (I naturally did) and because I wanted to start practicing the video. I’m committed to shooting this video no matter what next week but I need to be sure that if there’s problems from me doing it by myself, it’s not my performance. I’ll keep practicing throughout the week.

Indiegogo Video Teaser:

I didn’t really have a chance to do anything with this yet but I do have scheduled the deadline for casting the role of Odessa for Thursday. I’m hoping that we’ll be able to record her lines within a week of the casting. After that will be the final role, the role of Computerized Message.

Indiegogo Page:

I kept working at the Indiegogo page, making sure the information is up to date! It’s getting closer and closer to actually being ready which excites me! I’ll likely keep working on the page from here on out until we actually launch the project.

Day 181: Recording

Recordings:

The good news is that I had another recording! It went well and I’m pretty excited for the chance to bring them together for the Indiegogo teaser! I think it’s going to be a very exciting one and I’m pretty satisfied with the line recordings at the moment. Next week, I’ll start concentrating on getting the two remaining lines and on shooting my part of the video.

Crew:

I don’t exactly know yet when I’ll be shooting the Indiegogo video (I’m thinking end of March) but if you want to help or you know someone who will be free to help, please get in touch with me! I’ll need someone to handle camera and someone to handle boom. I have a lead on a potential Director of Photography that a friend of mine thinks is brilliant so we’ll see if I can lock him in! By the way, I’d also like to see if I could someone to volunteer to edit audio! I can edit the video myself but I might need some help with audio.

Day 180: Indiegogo Work

Indiegogo:

Today I kept working on the Indiegogo page in an effort to continue to improve it. I also did work on the pie charts some more but I’m just not happy with it: it doesn’t look pretty. I’m hoping to find a way to make the pie-chart look more interesting than the ones that OpenOffice creates for me. Anyways, I’m getting happier with the Indiegogo page the more I work on it!

Recordings:

I have a recording scheduled for tomorrow afternoon! This is the last scheduled one. I’m pretty excited for it. Once this round of recording is over, I plan to cast the last two roles so that I can concentrate on them.

Day 179: Recording Done!

Recordings:

The actor was feeling fine and we had a pretty good recording session with him! He had a pretty tough line and I think that despite his young age, he was able to really deliver with it. I’m pretty happy so far with all of the recordings! There’s only one more recording from the boys and then I’ll be able to concentrate more on the two remaining roles more: Odessa and Computerized Message.

Day 178: Indiegogo Page

Indiegogo:

Today I went into the Indiegogo page largely to make edits. Even though it’s mostly done and now includes the budget bit (I do need to touch up the budget graphic before I include it on the page), I thought I should spend some more time trying to make it as perfect as possible.

Recordings:

As of now, I might have a recording session scheduled tomorrow (depending on how the actor is feeling) and a recording session scheduled for Friday afternoon.  The remaining two roles have yet to be cast but that should happen soon!

Day 177: Light Delay

I hope you all had a good Easter weekend!

Recording:

I had a recording schedule for today but I’ve been told that the actor got sick over the weekend and needs some time to recover. We’re going to try for Wednesday but if that doesn’t work then we’ll have to record over the weekend. These things happen but since we’ve yet to cast two other actors, it’s not putting us behind schedule. I’m hoping to cast Odessa/Computerized Message roles soon but I didn’t get a chance to do that today.

My co-producer got back to me that he thinks he’ll be able to shoot his part of the video, shots of woods, soon. He’s waiting for the plants to bloom to get the best possible footage for the video!
