Today was simple. I downloaded the archive and public domain footage I found. I then organized it into my external hard drive and took some notes (like what kind of shot it was, what the shot contained, and the file name). I then played each file and using a word document, I organized the order and how long. I’m hopeful that I have enough public domain footage to get this done but I likely won’t find out until tomorrow or Thursday when I’m actually putting it into the video.
It is nice though to have some plan to edit before you start: it not only speeds up the process but if you have an idea of what you want to do, you can envision it in your head. This vision in the head can then guide your editing so even if you make changes (move footage around), you are still working towards that. As always, planning when working on a project like this is key.
Over the next couple of days, in addition to my meetings, I plan on putting this plan into work.
