I’ve continued to purchase equipment for the Indiegogo video. First there was the tripod for about $20. I started looking at cameras but I have yet to come to a decision on which one to buy. I did make a decision on which microphone to buy.
I went with the Audio-Technica ATR-6550 Video Camera Condenser Shotgun Microphone. This was a cheap mike ($55 only) and had really good reviews on Amazon. It might even be a microphone we could use in some shots for the actual movie! It was also designed for use with video cameras which is a bonus. I can also use the microphone to record audio for the teaser.
I didn’t just buy a microphone. I also bought a handheld boom pole. It was cheap, has great reviews, and should be pretty standard for any microphone I use whether for the Indiegogo video or actually shooting the movie. For those who are paying attention, yes I am going over budget for the Indiegogo video but I should be able to use some of the equipment on Eternal Camping while having professional production values.
There are also a few updates I’d like to relay on this post:
[*] I am still in need of a crew for the Indiegogo video pitch on January 30th. If you are interested, feel free to e-mail me. I need a DP, a boom operator, and perhaps a gaffer. You’ll get pizza, Coffee Bean, and I will give you a credit in the final film product as part of the Indiegogo team!
[*] Thank you to everyone who has auditioned so far! As a note, I don’t plan on really reviewing the submissions until February rolls around. If you are interested in auditioning, please click the arrow to the right of the screen and click the link to go to the Backstage page. I especially need submissions for Houston, Laredo, Antonio, and Dallas.
